King of Fighters XIII (KoF XIII) producer, Kei Yamamoto spoke with the PlayStation Blog. Among the things he discussed was the improved netcode in KoF XIII.
Despite a strong showing at E3 2009, KoF XII was mostly met with mediocre reviews. Critics felt the game was limited in both backgrounds and content. Fans also complained about the online experience.
This year Yamamoto wants to make sure that the latest installment in the series surpasses expectations by making improvements to the game such as netcode.
See what Yamamoto had to say after the jump.
"We received many comments from the players regarding the netcode. In order to improve the online performance, our netcode received a complete overhaul: we reexamined the threshold level, optimized the content of the transmitted data, and changed the way the game handled increased net traffic, among other things."Yamamoto also added that the fanbase was important in the development of KoF III. "All feedback is valuable to us – while we can’t implement everyone’s requests, we still tried to consider them when we were balancing the console version."
KoF XIII will be available for Xbox 360 and PS3 on Nov. 22.
