Dead or Alive 5: More Virtua Fighter characters on the way?
More is more.
Yesterday (March 6) Tecmo Koei announced that Dead or Alive 5 (DoA 5) would be coming to North America for Xbox 360 and PS3 in September. They also revealed Virtua Fighter's Akira Yuki as a playable character.
Akira is a well known character in the fighting game community. Picking him to be the main extra character for DoA 5 may make the most sense from a business perspective.
But he may not be the only one tagging along.
Famitsu (via Andriasang) caught up with Team Ninja's head honcho, Yosuke Hayashi. The Japanese media outlet asked how Akira in DoA 5 became a reality. Hayashi revealed that he pressed for the fighter's appearance in the game.
The Team Ninja chief also hinted at more Virtua Fighter characters making their way to DoA 5. Since "character commands are basically unchanged from Virtua Fighter," it may be a painless process to add one or two more characters from the series.
Could Virtua Fighter x Dead or Alive be in the cards? Time will tell.
