Disc locked content.
It's the three words fans have been saying since DLC was found hidden in the Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) disc. Rather than let fans know about this practice ahead of time, Capcom stood silent until the content was discovered. The company wishes they could go back in time to change their strategy.
But don't take my word for it. Capcom's Vice President, Christian Svensson said he didn't want DLC to be handled the way it was.
Now Gears of War and Epic Games director, Cliff Bleszinski is chiming in on Capcom's situation. See what "Cliffy B" had to say to GameSpot below:
"When you're making a game, and you're getting into a ship cycle, there's often three or four months where the game is basically done. And you have an idle team that needs to be working on things,
And often for compatibility issues, [on] day one, some of that content does need to be on-disc. It's an ugly truth of the gaming industry. I'm not the biggest fan of having to do it, but it is one of the unfortunate realities."
