Dead or Alive 5: Online tag battles confirmed, interactive lobbies removed

Gain one, lose one.

Dead or Alive 5 (DoA 5) has been met with anticipation. The addition of Virtua Fighter characters such as Akira Yuki may be one of the reasons why. Tecmo Koei predicts the game will sell one million copies.

Perhaps this next bit of news will persuade more potential buyers into locking in that purchase. Or it'll push them to the side due to a loss. Joystiq reports DoA 5 will have online tag battles, but interactive lobbies have been removed in favor of a better online experience.

If you take into account what you'll be getting with the latest DoA game, the loss of interactive lobbies may not be such a big deal. Lei Fang and Zack will be making their way to Tecmo Koei's upcoming effort.

The fighter has come a long way since early development. Back in Dec. 2011, DoA 5 was only 15-percent completed. Two months prior to the news, an extended trailer was revealed at the Tokyo Game Show (TGS).

Tecmo Koei and Team Ninja look to start fall 2012 with a bang. DoA 5 hits stores for Xbox 360 and PS3 Sept. 25.
