This weekend, SRK posted a rumor claiming additional characters were found hidden on the Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (TTT2) disc. New images sent to the site have now confirmed the suspicion. The additional characters include Miharu Hirano, Doctor Boskonovitch, Slim Bob, Sebastian, Violet, and Unknown.
While it appears the characters will be "distinct," it's possible they may be costume swaps. Many of the characters share fighting styles with other fighters such as Unknown using Jun's style. The move has so far been met with praise from fans.
So with the amount of criticism Capcom took for the DLC content locked on the Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) disc, why is Namco Bandai getting a pass? Allow me to explain:
The content locked on the TTT2 disc will be free. Capcom charged $20 for their DLC characters on July 31. While color options for characters remained free, certain gem packs, the combo editor, and of course the characters had a price.
Last month, TTT2 producer Katsuhiro Harada made it clear that all the game's DLC content would be free. This came off the heels of an Xbox Live Marketplace leak revealing the game would have an online pass.
Fernando's POV: Any content that has been completed or mostly completed should belong to the customer for free. Kudos to Namco Bandai for realizing this isn't rocket science. Hopefully the blind Capcom defenders won't use this as a ridiculous excuse for Capcom's shady business practices. Anyone with a brain that functions properly should see that TTT2 is doing it right.
