Siliconera has posted an article discussing past Disney projects that failed to come to fruition. One of those projects was a game inspired by the Super Smash Bros. series.

The vision behind the would-be fighter was to have the Disney characters as action figures. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is inspired by Smash Bros. using items and stage hazards as a crucial part of the gameplay.
