Capcom's Yoshinori Ono takes the role of corporate officer
Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono is tackling a significant position at Capcom. Adding to his role of head of publisher’s consumer games research and development, Ono is now a corporate officer.
So much for taking it easy.
Yoshinori Ono is back in the headlines. To some the reason may be exciting, to others it could be alarming. Ono has landed the position of corporate officer at Capcom Japan (via CVG).
Ono will be handling daily operations at Capcom Japan with his new position. He's also keeping his position as the head of publisher’s consumer games research and development.
To some this is good news. Being a corporate officer gives Ono a little more say in the company's decision making. Since Ono was high on Street Fighter and fighting games in general since his arrival, the fighting game community could be looking at a healthy future as far as Capcom fighters go.
Others may not be as cheerful. A little over a year ago, Ono was hospitalized due to stress from his job in the research and development department. With two positions, the fear of Ono's health going forward lingers.
