Suddenly the hype train has slowed down.
It's hard to believe that anything could cool down the momentum for Evo 2013 when it's just 10 days away. The event has long been considered the Superbowl and Wrestlemania of the fighting game community (FGC). The very best players from all over the world will be spread through out nine games to prove they are a class above the rest.
Unfortunately one of those players will have to take a pass this year.
Top east coast competitor, Dieminion has announced on his Twitter account (via EventHubs) that he will not be attending Evo 2013. The announcement comes days after he revealed he wouldn't be able to make CEO 2013 (see results here).
Dieminion is known for having what many consider to be the best Guile in America. His Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition 2012 play will be missed by many in the FGC at Evo 2013. The VxG and EMP stalwart is also fierce in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 action.
Due to circumstances , I am announcing with great sadness that I will not be participating at the Evolution 2013 World Finals .
