The relationship between Capcom and Microsoft's Games for Windows Live service could be coming to a close. At the request of fans, Ultra Street Fighter IV will be using the Steam platform for online play.
Goodbye Games for Windows Live (GFWL), hello Steamworks.
The original Street Fighter IV and Arcade Edition have been available on numerous PC platforms including Steam and GFWL. Capcom went with GFWL for online multiplayer modes rather than utilize Steam. That's going to change when Ultra Street Fighter IV is released.
Capcom's Haunts took to his Twitter account to reveal that the latest addition to the Street Fighter IV series will make the switch to Steamworks.
@Smedwicks @toddhunter @ultradavid @FishStix @tehrebound It's coming to Steam, yes, we'll be transitioning from GFWL to Steam.

Haunts wasn't done discussing the PC version there. He also assured fans that Capcom is aiming to release the PC version simultaneously with the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.
@FishStix @tehrebound Yes the intention is to have them all launch at around the same time. Should have more deets on PC ver soon.
